EcoRecycling SRL

EcoRecycling is a spinoff company created in 2008 by University researchers, and by two SMEs involved in recycling and treatment of industrial wastes.

The company's initial aim was that to transfer the technology of a new patent concerning the recycling of alkaline spent batteries. This activity was then extended to the valorization of other wastes. A multipurpose first pilot plant was built in Northern Italy. Based on pilot activities, an industrial plant with large potentiality (4000 t/y) has been designed by EcoRecycling and the plant is now operating at S.E.Val s.r.l.. Successively a new mobile pilot plant was built to recover metals from wastes. Eco Recycling designed two demonstrative plant finalized also to the recovery of rare earths from fluorescent powders from lamps.

Furthermore, the company has developed a pilot plant for the recovery and recycling of spent Pd-Ag membrane modules used in Hydrogen separation. The company is now involved in the recovery of endoflife photovoltaic panels.

The company's activity and mission consist in the development of innovative processes, process and plant design, assistance for startup, management and personnel training, chemical analysis for environmental control and process optimization. Eco Recycling actively collaborates with the Department of Chemistry of La Sapienza University of Roma and with the interuniversity center HTR for the planning of its experimental campaigns on a lab scale.
